Carnedd, Cardiff

Grinding, mining, toiling. Tim Martin-Jones + Vivian Ross-Smith are a pair of supplicants labouring over an altar for absent gods. Crunching interior sound, compressed and spat outward to a corporate world. With mineral powdered under nail beds the duo pilgrimage to the shrine of worn carpet and relentless, repetitive gesture. The steady beam of a headlamp, the sudden dawn of an opened cupboard, searching for release.

Grind pieces of natural chalk / limestone to powder
In 15 minute increments gather up powder
Pilgrimage across carpet, deposit powder into two piles

Change from boiler suits to dress suits
Plug in corded hoovers
Vacuum up dust
